Favorite subject

My favorite subject during this semester, by far, has been Problems of modern Architecture. At the beginning, I did not know what was it about, i did not even know what modern architecture was. I enjoyed the course because I learnt a lot things I have interest on.

And now, when the semester is ending, modern architecture has become one of the most interesting topics in the theory of architecture to me, and many of the architects of the movement have become some of my favorites. I never expected how deep this topic could be.

Example of that is the architect Adolf Loos. If I have had seen his works 5 months ago, before the beginning of the course, probably I would not have liked it, I would not have found any sense, but now, I understand properly his architecture, his purpose and I actually really like it.

The main topics we studied in the course were: Modern thinking and paradigm shift, classicism breakdown, bauhaus school, and modern architecture in the United States, and the topic i got more into was modern thinking and paradigm shift.

Also, another reason why I enjoyed this course that much is because of the teacher, he was always worry about us to understand the things and to learn as much as we could. Also, we use to do breakfast most of the classes.

Finally, I can conclude that I actually got into modern architecture and everything it involves, and it could be something I could consider to work or I could keep studying in the future.

  1. In Design you have to do a similar subject, "History and theory of design", it's so interesting!
